IQAC of Shanto-Mariam University arranged a workshop on “Governance” on August 03, 2017 at Creative Hub. The workshop speaker was Prof. Dr. Sabiha Huq, Head of the Department of English and a Dean of Khulna University.
The workshop started with the welcome speech of Prof. Dr. Yasmin Ahmed, Director, IQAC. She laid emphasis on accountability, transparency and doing work with responsibility.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Shaikh laid importance on doing things with good intention.
Ms. Tazia Sultana read out the biography of the workshop speaker Prof. Dr. Sabiha Huq.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Quazi Mafizur Rahman spoke on the occasion and declared the workshop open. His words were very encouraging and inspiring ones.
Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Md. Anwarul Hoque, Additional Director, IQAC. He thanked the authorities and the participants and hoped that the workshop will be very helpful for the participants.
Respected Dean, Registrar, Heads of the Departments and the faculty members were present.
Prof. Dr. Sabiha Huq gave a highly informative and exhaustive presentation on “Governance”. She explained elaborately the various aspects of it. She said that we are citizens of the state and the organization wherein we work.
After the break for lunch and prayer, a working session had taken place; the participants worked out some given tasks on ‘governance’. Later every participating department gave presentation on their accomplished work.
96 faculty-members were present as participants and actively took part in the workshop. The workshop ended with vote of thanks extended by Mr. Md. Firoj Al Mamun Khan.
Observation of IQAC
1) The topic of the workshop was very important and relevant one. Participants became more aware about their responsibility and accountability.
2) Key-note speaker appreciated highly the performance of the participants in doing the exercise.
3) Participants were very enthusiastic and requested for more workshops.
