The IQAC of Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) organized a seminar for the faculty members on “How to Write Research Proposal: Concepts, Uses, Practices and Tricks”. The seminar was held on 14 February, 2023 and started at 12:10 pm in the Conference Room of the University. Prof. Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam, distinguished academician of Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) was present as Resource Person. Major recommendations of his presentations were: Components of the research proposal should be focused clearly; proposal is required to specify those areas according to the Terms of References (TOR) of the research proposal; the proposal should be well-written and clearly communicated with a logical structure and well-defined sections; the proposal should demonstrate that research is achievable within the proposed timeframe and budget and that the researcher has the necessary skills and resources to carry out the study and the proposal should address any ethical considerations related to the research such as confidentiality, informed consent and participant safety. Prof. Shamsun Nahar, Honorable Vice Chancellor in-charge was present as the chief guest in the seminar. Prof. Dr. Yasmin Ahmed, Director, IQAC gave the welcome speech of the programme. Mr. Mohammad Kamaluddin, Additional director (In-charge), IQAC, conducted the program and greeted everyone. Tazia Sultana, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology and Anthropology read out the biography of the Key-note speaker. Prof. Dr. M. Abdul Halim Shaikh, Dean Faculty of MGS, Ar. Hosne Ara Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Design Technology and Prof. Dr. Pradip Kumar Nandi, Dean (In-Charge), Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts and 45 Faculty Members of all the Departments were also present in the seminar. The seminar ended with a question and answer session at 2:00 pm.
